Paying Attention to the Person in Leadership:

A series of reflective exercises throughout 2026

The Attention Map is a focused reflective exercise designed to help leaders pause and discern what is most present in their inner and outer experience. Drawing on five simple yet powerful prompts—what feels loud right now, what’s quiet but persistent, what you might be avoiding, and what draws your attention about yourself, others, your work, and God—this tool guides you into deeper awareness, clearer priorities, and a more attentive posture before God and your context.

Reflecting on Wise Leadership invites leaders—especially those in ministry and relational vocations—to pause and consider what it means to lead with wisdom rooted in humility, attentiveness to God, and faithful influence. Drawing on the biblical imagery of Proverbs, the resource guides you through a short, prayerful reflective exercise designed to help you notice how your leadership impacts others, examine your inner patterns and use of power, and open yourself more deeply to receiving God’s wisdom before acting.

Reflection Compass: A Guided Supervision Exercise offers a simple yet powerful reflective tool to help you navigate a current challenge with clarity and insight. Drawing on the metaphor of a compass, it leads you through four key directions—exploring where you stand now, what you need to know, what energises you, and what concerns you—before returning to your original question with fresh perspective and renewed direction. Rooted in the practice of supervision, this exercise supports deeper self-awareness, thoughtful discernment, and intentional next steps in your personal and professional life.

Traffic Light Check-In is a simple, visual self-reflection tool that helps you pause and notice where you are emotionally and experientially in a given moment. Using the familiar colours of a traffic light—green for calm and able to engage, yellow for alert but cautious, and red for overwhelmed or needing rest—this check-in guides you to name what’s happening inside you, explore what support or action you need next, and respond with greater self-awareness and intention
