Supervision is for anyone serving in a leadership or caring role who wants to reflect intentionally on their practice. I work primarily with pastors, chaplains, educators, ministry leaders, church staff, and those serving in faith-based organisations, while also welcoming professionals from other sectors who value reflective practice and professional growth.

No. While supervision can be deeply supportive, it is not counselling or therapy. Professional Pastoral Supervision is a reflective practice that focuses on your ministry, leadership, decision-making, relationships, and vocational well-being. It provides a confidential space to think well about your work, your calling, and how you can lead with greater wisdom, resilience, and integrity.

Most people find that meeting every four to six weeks provides a healthy rhythm for reflection, growth, and accountability. During periods of significant change, increased responsibility, or personal challenge, more frequent sessions may be beneficial. Together, we'll determine a schedule that best supports your needs and context.

I am an Accredited Professional Pastoral Supervisor with the Australasian Association of Supervisors and an approved supervision provider for a number of denominations, dioceses, and Christian organisations. I also bring more than 20 years of ministry leadership experience, providing both professional expertise and a deep understanding of the realities of ministry and leadership.

Yes! Most of my supervision sessions are conducted online via secure video conferencing, making supervision accessible wherever you are in Australia or internationally. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and convenience of meeting from their own home or workplace, while still experiencing the same depth of reflection and connection.

Yes. Confidentiality is a foundational part of Professional Pastoral Supervision. Everything discussed remains confidential, except where there are legal, ethical, or professional obligations to disclose information, such as concerns about serious risk of harm. At the beginning of our work together, I'll explain these boundaries clearly so you know exactly what to expect.

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to supervision. We'll discuss your role, your ministry or professional context, the opportunities and challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from supervision. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions, and together we'll consider whether we're a good fit for working together.

Increasingly, yes.

Across Australia, many denominations, dioceses and Christian organisations now require or recommend Professional Pastoral Supervision as part of healthy, sustainable ministry. For some clergy, chaplains and ministry leaders it is a formal requirement; for many others it is recognised as best practice in supporting reflective ministry, ethical leadership, safeguarding and vocational wellbeing.

Even where supervision isn't mandated, many pastors and Christian leaders choose to engage in regular supervision because it provides a confidential, independent space to reflect on ministry, navigate challenges, deepen self-awareness and sustain long-term resilience.

As an Accredited Professional Pastoral Supervisor, I work with people from a wide range of denominations and Christian organisations across Australia. Some come because supervision is required by their denomination or employer, while others simply value having an experienced supervisor alongside them as they seek to lead with wisdom, integrity and care.

Absolutely.

Many of the people I work with have their supervision funded, either fully or in part, by their church, school or Christian organisation. Although my professional relationship is always with the individual supervisee, employers are welcome to pay for sessions or reimburse the cost.

This ensures supervision remains a confidential, independent space while allowing organisations to invest in the wellbeing and ongoing development of their staff.

If you're unsure whether your organisation offers funding, it's worth asking. Many employers have professional development or wellbeing budgets that can be used for Professional Pastoral Supervision.
