Professional Pastoral Supervision for Ministry Students & Trainees

Grow into ministry with wisdom, self-awareness, and sustainable leadership.

Preparing for ministry isn't only about learning theology. It's also about becoming the kind of leader who can faithfully serve others over a lifetime.

Professional Pastoral Supervision gives Bible college students, ministry apprentices, interns, and ministry trainees a confidential space to reflect on their learning, ministry experiences, leadership, wellbeing, and sense of calling.

Whether you're serving in a local church, completing ministry placements, leading young people, or preparing for ordained ministry, supervision helps you integrate what you're learning with who you're becoming.

Ministry Formation Happens in Real Life

Bible college teaches theology.

Placements develop ministry skills.

Church communities shape your character.

Professional Pastoral Supervision brings these together.

It provides a dedicated space to slow down, reflect, ask good questions, and make sense of what God is teaching you through study, ministry, relationships, successes, disappointments, and challenges.

Rather than simply asking:

"What did I do?"

Supervision helps you ask:

  • What am I learning?

  • How is God forming me?

  • What patterns am I developing?

  • What kind of leader am I becoming?

  • How do I care well for others while caring well for myself?

These are questions that shape healthy, sustainable ministry for years to come.

Why Ministry Students Choose Professional Pastoral Supervision

Professional supervision complements—not replaces—the mentoring, pastoral care, and theological education you're already receiving.

It creates space to think deeply about your ministry before unhealthy habits become established.

Students often use supervision to explore:

✓ Ministry placements

✓ Leadership development

✓ Theological reflection

✓ Navigating difficult pastoral situations

✓ Emotional resilience

✓ Healthy ministry boundaries

✓ Relationships within ministry teams

✓ Self-awareness and leadership style

✓ Vocational discernment

✓ Balancing study, church, work, and family

✓ Preparing for long-term ministry

What we might explore together

Unlike an assessment, supervision follows your experience.

Each conversation begins with what's most important to you, but common areas include:

Integrating Theology and Practice

Bringing classroom learning into the realities of everyday ministry.

Developing Reflective Practice

Learning to notice, interpret, and grow through ministry experiences.

Discovering Your Leadership Style

Understanding how your personality, family systems, strengths, and blind spots influence your leadership.

Emotional and Spiritual Resilience

Building healthy rhythms that reduce burnout and support long-term ministry.

Navigating Ministry Relationships

Working through conflict, team dynamics, feedback, and difficult conversations with wisdom.

Discernment and Calling

Exploring how God is shaping your vocation and preparing you for future ministry.

Ethics and Professional Practice

Developing healthy boundaries, accountability, and integrity in pastoral ministry.

Transitioning into Vocational Ministry

Preparing for life beyond Bible college with confidence, clarity, and sustainable practices.

Why Work With Me?

I understand both ministry and ministry formation because I've spent more than twenty years serving across churches, chaplaincy, education, university ministry, leadership development, and working cross-culturally with an international missions organisation.

Alongside my work as an Accredited Professional Pastoral Supervisor, I've also had the privilege of mentoring Bible college students, supporting ministry trainees, and walking alongside emerging leaders as they discern God's calling.

My role isn't to assess you or tell you what to do.

It's to provide a confidential, reflective space where you can grow in wisdom, self-awareness, resilience, and confidence as you prepare for a lifetime of ministry.

Invest in the Leader You're Becoming

The habits you develop during ministry training often become the habits you carry into lifelong ministry.

Professional Pastoral Supervision provides space to grow intentionally, reflect deeply, and develop the resilience, wisdom, and self-awareness needed for faithful, sustainable leadership.

Whether you're just beginning ministry or preparing for your next season, I'd love to walk alongside you.

Jodi is particularly gifted at helping people grow in self-awareness and understanding of the unique ways in which they can serve God and others. I am thankful to God for having benefited from these gifts, which have continued to shape my own life and ministry
