Resilience and Burnout: What If You Didn’t Have to Just Push Through?

Finding your footing again in the work you care about.

For those in Education and the Helping Professions
For those in Christian Ministry

Burnout doesn’t always show up as a dramatic crash.

Sometimes it looks like going through the motions.

Or waking up tired, even after a full night’s sleep.

Or losing joy in work that once felt deeply meaningful.

Or simply feeling… flat.

Whether you’re in a ministry, leadership, or caring role — this probably sounds familiar. You give out a lot. You hold things together. You care deeply. And somewhere along the way, your own well-being can slip quietly to the side.

This reflective course was created for people like you — people who want to keep showing up well, but who need space to pause, take stock, and reconnect with what really sustains them.

What This Course Is — and Isn’t

This isn’t a set of quick tips or burnout hacks. It’s not about productivity, efficiency, or bouncing back fast.

It’s a slower, deeper invitation.

A space to stop pushing for a moment and ask, among other things:

  • What’s really going on for me?

  • How do I build a solid foundation for my well-being and resilience in my work?

  • Where is my sense of joy or purpose?

Is This for You?

This course is for:

  • Clergy, chaplains, and spiritual leaders

  • People in care, education, or community support roles

You might be right in the middle of burnout.

Or maybe you’re just starting to notice the cracks.

Or maybe you want to take preventative steps now, before things get harder.

Wherever you’re at — you’re welcome.

Please note - because this course is about you and where you are at, there is flexibility to adapt the course to be done through a lens of Christian faith (in particular, how a sense of secure attachment to God impacts sense of well-being) or not.

So What Do We Actually Cover?

We will have guided conversations that follow the material and go at your pace, and tailor your next steps in well-being and resilience. Here’s some of what we explore together:

  • We unpack what burnout really is — not just emotionally, but physically, vocationally (and spiritually — course-dependent). You’ll begin to see your experience with fresh eyes, and maybe even a little more self-compassion.

  • Many of us in caring roles have stories of being responsible from an early age. We explore how those patterns shape leadership, relationships, and boundaries — and how a more secure, grounded sense of self can emerge.

  • What does it mean to serve over the long haul — not just staying in the job, but staying whole? We talk about joy, grief, boundaries, hope, spiritual practices, and reframing what faithfulness looks like.

  • Often, burnout isn’t just about you — it’s about the systems around you. Together, we explore how to stay clear and non-anxious in reactive environments, and how to lead from a centred place.

  • This course happens within the space of professional supervision. That means it’s not just theory — it’s a chance to reflect on your own story, in a confidential and supportive space. Supervision holds space for your questions, your faith, your doubt, and your leadership.
